Ode to Mahmoud Mukhtar

This collection was shown in 2005 at the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum in Cairo.

Artist Statement: When I first visited Mahmoud Mukhtar's oeuvre in November of 2003, what I discovered was a collection of work that truly spoke to me on many levels.

As an artist, I was fascinated by Mukhtar's ability to remain faithful to classical rules of balanced composition, yet belong to the contemporary by simplifying the complicated into a few essential planes.
